Integrative Yoga Therapy
This highly effective system of self-care lowers stress levels and helps individuals
achieve optimal health in their physical bodies, acceptance of their mental/emotional
states, and the ability to better manage the ups and downs of life in "earth
school." The Yoga therapist creates a safe and nonjudgmental client-centered
space and addresses the specific needs of the client with respect to age, culture, and
physical condition.
How Does Integrative Therapy Work?
Yoga exercises stretch and tone the muscles, massage the internal organs, relax
the nervous system, enhance immune system function, flush toxins from the body, and
improve the circulation of blood and lymph. Yoga breathing techniques decrease the
perception of pain, increase the relaxation response, and encourage a steady flow of
oxygen to the brain. Guided relaxation and meditation calm the mind, lower blood
pressure, and induce a long-lasting sense of well being. |
