 Class Descriptions

Yoga Pilates Mat T'ai Chi

Learn to uplift and expand your body and mind through the ancient science of yoga.  Classes include education and exploration of postures, breathing techniques, deep relaxation, guided imagery and basic meditation. Come relax your body, your breath and your mind.

Come introduce your body to the movement of the mat workout.  Learn the fundamentals, focus on finding and learning how to use the core muscles, learn to integrate breaths with movement, improve optimal alignment and increase flexibility and core control.  A systematic practice of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing patterns.

This Oriental form of exercise has been a living tradition for hundreds of years.  With graceful movement, and fluid natural postures; Tai-Chi has been practiced by men and women of all ages.  Slow coordinated body movements help deepen breathing, improve body balance and cultivate internal Qi.  In today’s fast paced world, Tai-Chi is an effective exercise for health and well being.

 Yoga Class Levels

Level 1 is a beginner level class.  The basic postures are taught at a level appropriate for someone without pervious yoga experience.  It is also a good level for students who need review or want a less physically demanding class. 

Level 2 is an intermediate level classAppropriate for people with an understanding of the basic yoga postures covered in level one.  It is an appropriate class for beginners who are physically fit and want more of a challenge than level one.  It is recommended that students attend a level one yoga class before a level two yoga class.
